Kathleen Ojala is the Administrative Director of Compliance for the Wexner Medical Center. She re-joined The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center in 2015 in her current role. She has been a Buckeye for more than five years previously, starting at the OSU Medical Center in 2005-2007 as the Privacy Officer and 2007-2011 as the Associate Director for Compliance Coordination.
Kathleen’s experiences as a registered nurse and hospital administrator form her deep commitment to the delivery of quality patient care in an efficient and effective manner. She has over ten years of experience as a health care compliance officer.
Kathleen earned her J.D. from the University of Richmond in 1996, and was admitted to the Virginia Bar in 1996. She earned her B.S. in Nursing from Florida State University (1979) and a Masters of Health Administration from Florida International University (1988). She is a certified professional coder (CPC) from the American Association of Professional Coders (AAPC) and a CHC, certified in healthcare compliance Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA). She has been a speaker at local and regional professional associations on compliance and privacy matters. Kathleen is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, Health Care Compliance Association and American Association of Professional Coders. She is an Ohio Registered Nurse and holds a Virginia law license.
