Carter Investigation

On March 7, 2026, The Ohio State University President Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. resigned after he disclosed an inappropriate relationship with someone seeking public resources to support her personal business. Following Carter’s resignation, Ohio State’s Board of Trustees requested an investigation, which the Office of University Compliance and Integrity and the Department of Internal Audit began immediately at the direction of the General Counsel. The university released the report in full along with all underlying records on April 21, 2026.
